It was time to fill the wheel wells on Kevin’s 1997 Jeep TJ with 37″x12.5″ R15 Pit Bull Rocker Radials.

Here are the 37″ Pit Bulls
Running these tires off road means beefing up the axles. The low pinion Dana30 was upgraded to a high pinion Dana30 with an Artec Truss Kit, RCV Axles, 4.88 gears and a Yukon Zip Locker
The rear Dana35 was swapped out with a Ford 8.8 with disc brakes. We upgraded the axled with a Yukon 88 kit that came with Chromo shafts and c-clip eliminators. We also installed a Karnage Fab Ford To Jeep TJ Bracket kit and ARB Air Locker
In order to use the air lockers an ARB Compressor and Smittybilt switch panel were installed
Now with larger tires and lockers, safety becomes a concern. A new roll cage was needed. We ordered in 140ft of 1.75″ x .120 wall DOM Tube to build the cage. With the help of Brandon from BLR Fabrication.
We started by stripping out the interior and factory cage
Next was cutting, bending, notching and tack welding.
Custom dash mounts
I won’t be using the back seat in the TJ so, I figured it would be a good spot to mount the spare tire
Final welding was finished after fitting the cage
Wake board tower speakers were used to provide some sound.
And this is how the TJ sits now.
A few things that still need upgrading are front and rear bumpers.

This customer came in wanting more height and he wanted it done properly. The best way to accomplish this with the Dodge Dakota was to remove the existing Tuff Country Lift Kit and do a solid axle swap.

2012 Ford F550 people carrier/tow rig for the Canadian Coast Guard. This truck is used to carry personnel and tow a rigid hull inflatable boat for training exercises on the northern tip of Vancouver Island. The complaint was it has a really rough ride on the roads up near Bamfield. The personnel being transported were getting sore and the equipment was really taking a beating.
After a lengthy inspection we found that the rear carrier/box is solid mounted to the chassis and the truck is constantly riding on the overloads.
The solution is a complete rear Ultra Ride Air System from Link Systems. This system changes from a traditional leaf spring suspension to full rear air ride. The quality of this kit is amazing.
Today is tear down day, so stay tuned for the final results.
Installation is well under way today. Dang mechanics, always laying around.
What a difference the Air Ride Suspension has made with this truck. The ride is much smoother.
